New Briefs
March 19, 2007
* A dedication ceremony on 16 March 2007 unveiled the refurbished "Tom and Bill McChesney Memorial Track" including a steeplechase water jump, at South High School in Eugene, Oregon. South will serve as a warmup facility for the 2008 USA Olympic Trials at the nearby University of Oregon campus -- and for some interim meets, such as June 2007 Hayward Classic, while the UO track is being upgraded for the trials.

* Women's steeple start times for the 2007 Division 1 NCAA Championships, not known when an earlier story appeared in SR 392 on 13 Feb 2007, have been announced. Round 1 is at 2025 Wednesday, June 6; the final is at 1935 on Friday, June 8.

* The Sacramento meet ends about noon Saturday, June 9, giving track fans 24 hours for travel north to Eugene to the June 10 "Prefontaine Classic," biggest IAAF Grand Prix meet in the USA -- where 3000m steeple is scheduled for men. GP meet placings earn extra points for IAAF Ranking and qualification for the World Athletics Final in September.

* The 2007 USA "Club Championships" dates and venue have been announced: July 13-14 at Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island in New York City. Further details, such as schedule of events and entry details, are expected soon.
