World Record Holder Samitova-Galkina is Back
July 3, 2007
World record holder Gulnara Samitova-Galkina (9:01.59) is back and winning consistently after a 2-year hiatus, though Eunice Jepkorir remained close at the Athens Grand Prix on July 2, 2007. The world champ race in August at Osaka may go the best tactician as recent JPN champs there show a curved run-up to the water that tends to cause single file (rather than pack) running.
