Second GP meet is the 21st edition of the "Grande Premio Brasil Caixa de Atletismo" on May 22 in Belém at the Mangueirao Stadium where 42,640 spectators showed up last year. This meet will award a total of 180,000 US dollars..
The appearance of women's steeple in IAAF Grand Prix meets recognizes the event's full arrival on the world stage and its related inclusion in the World Championships. For elite lady steeplers this means increased opportunities for both money and a place in the prestigious IAAF Rankings.
Between the two IAAF meets is a South American Grand Prix on May 18 in Fortaleza where 90,000 US dollars will be awarded to athletes.
