The IAAF has announced qualifying standards for entry to 2005 World Championships next August 6-14 at Helsinki, Finland. For women's 3000m steeplechase the "A" standard is 9 min 50 seconds; the "B" standard is 10 minutes flat.
A nation can enter three runners in an event if all have achieved the "A" standard "during qualification period (1 January 2004 to 25 July 2005). If none achieve the "A" standard, a nation can enter one athlete if she has achieved the "B" standard.
The qualifying round at Helsinki is Saturday afternoon, Aug 6. The final is Monday evening, Aug 8. |
