Volkova led at 1km in 3:16.11. Casandra led at 2km in 6:29.65, then ran a final kilometer in 3:06.73 but Jepkorir and McGettigan finished even faster.
Clitheroe, MacFarlane, and Dean may have saved energy for meet
s second day when they run in the 3000-meter flat race.
The steeple field was smaller than meet format ,specifying 12 in each distance race, but not as tiny as 5000m run with only six.
