USA Junior Champs in June, World Juniors in JulyJune 14, 2008

Sunday, 15 June 2008, is the last day for entering the USATF Junior Championships to be held June 20-22 in Jesse Owens Stadium at Columbus, Ohio. Women’s steeple is on June 20.
Eleven entrants have satisfied the entry standard of 11:15.14 for 3000m steeple or 7:25.14 for a 2000m steeple. Details at:

An official website says this meet is “USA Track & Field's premier event for athletes ages 14-19 and is used for the selection of elite junior athletes to represent the United States in international competition, including the World Junior Track & Field Championships.”
The 2008 World Junior Champs are in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Women’s steeplechase heats start 0900 on July 8; the final is at 1845 on July 10. The entry standard for 3000m steeple is 11:00 achieved between 1 January 2007 and 23 July 2008.
Each nation can enter thee qualified athletes in an event, but only two of them can compete at Bydgoszcz.
