IAAF scoring meet May 16 in USA has women’s steepleMay 11, 2009

Qualifying for the annual World Athletics Final, each September, requires scoring place points in approved World Athletics Tour meets such as “Area Permit” meets – or in higher-scoring Grand Prix meets.
In past years such meets in North America did not include women steeplers, forcing their travel to other continents for WAF qualifiers.
But 2009 offers a breakthrough as women steeplers are included in the “Adidas Track Classic” (Area Permit meet) on May 16 at Carson, California – though not in Grand Prix meets, Nike Prefontaine Classic at Eugene or Reebok Grand Prix at New York. Women’s steeplechase results at two recent WAT meets, on other continents, appear below.
